About Us

About Mile High Junk Removal

Mile High Junk Removal is a locally operated junk removal company serving the Denver metro. Gerardo Liendo and Ruby began the junk-removal operation in late 2023. Here's who we are, why we started it, and how we try to run it.

Our Story

Why Mile High Junk Removal exists

Gerardo grew up in Northern Colorado. Before starting Mile High Junk Removal, he spent about a year working in the junk removal industry, eventually moving into an operations role. That time gave him hands-on experience with both the physical work and the operations side of running a junk removal business — scheduling, logistics, and everything that goes into getting a job done right.

Starting Mile High Junk Removal was a chance to build something more tailored than a one-size-fits-all service: pricing that's explained upfront before any work starts, honest communication from the first call to the last item loaded, and a process flexible enough to actually fit the job in front of us instead of forcing every client through the same script.

Gerardo & Ruby

Started together, still hands-on

Gerardo and Ruby started serving clients through Mile High Junk Removal in late 2023, and both remain closely involved in the day-to-day operation.

Mile High Junk Removal isn't only the two of them — there's a crew behind every job that shows up and gets the work done. But the way this company treats clients starts with how Gerardo and Ruby built it.

What "tailored" actually means

Not every cleanout fits into one visit

Some jobs are straightforward — a couch, an old appliance, a garage that needs an afternoon. Others aren't. A property that's been accumulating for years, or a cleanout that's just too much to take on all at once, can be overwhelming to face in a single day.

When appropriate, we can break a larger cleanout into a few manageable visits instead of requiring everything to happen at once. It's not the plan for every job, and it depends on the situation — but when a client needs that flexibility, it's something we can work with.

Beyond the junk

There's usually more going on than the pile itself

A lot of the calls we get aren't really about junk. They're about a move with a deadline, a family member's home that needs to be cleared out, a storage unit that's been costing money for months, or a property that has to be ready for a new tenant or a sale. The stuff is just what's left over from all of that.

We try to treat it that way — asking what's actually going on before quoting a price, working around a timeline that makes sense for the situation, and making sure nobody feels like they have to handle a hard cleanout entirely on their own.

Donation & Reuse

Where usable items go

Usable furniture and household items get set aside before anything goes into the trailer. Most of what's still in good shape is donated to local donation centers, and some items stay in circulation through resale when that makes more sense — either way, the goal is to give usable things another chance instead of treating them as automatic trash.

We're not formally partnered with one specific charity — it depends on what's being donated and who has room to take it at the time.
