What we haul away

  • Full property cleanouts, top to bottom
  • Furniture, appliances & household goods
  • Donation coordination for usable items
  • Flexible scheduling around family timelines
  • Coordination with realtors & estate managers

Priced by trailer space

Every job is priced by how much of our 14' x 7' x 4' trailer your items fill — from a $100 minimum pickup up to a $600 full load, with up to 1 hour of labor included. Extra time beyond that hour is billed hourly at $125/hour, but we'll always tell you before it happens — no surprise fees.

What affects the price: the size of the property, how many levels or outbuildings are involved, and whether the job needs more than one visit to fit a family's timeline.

The process

How an estate cleanout works

1

We start with a conversation about the timeline — a closing date, a listing deadline, or just whenever the family is ready.

2

Anything the family wants to keep gets pulled aside before we begin — just point it out or leave a note.

3

Our crew works carefully and respectfully through the property, room by room.

4

We can coordinate directly with a realtor, executor, or estate attorney on schedule and access.

What happens to the estate's belongings after pickup

Furniture, housewares, and belongings still in usable condition are set aside for local donation centers and nonprofits — a meaningful amount of what looks like "just stuff" to one family is exactly what another household needs. Recyclable materials are separated out along the way. What's left, after donation and recycling are both considered, is disposed of last.

What we can't take

  • Firearms and ammunition — these need to be handled through a licensed dealer or law enforcement
  • Vehicles or other titled property — outside our scope, but we can point you toward someone who handles that
  • Items awaiting appraisal — pull those aside before we start so nothing gets loaded by mistake

What customers say

Real reviews from real jobs

"Not only are they the most reasonable junk removal service we've ever worked with but they are incredibly fast and reliable. We highly recommend them and will use them anytime we have clients in their service area."

Beth Blacker

"Mile High did a great job helping to get my property ready to sell. They were punctual, very polite, respectful and efficient. Ruby and Gerardo did a great job at a good price and went over and above to take care of me!"

Common questions

Estate cleanout FAQ

Can you coordinate directly with a realtor or estate attorney?

Yes, we regularly work directly with realtors, attorneys, and estate managers, not just family members.

Do you work around a closing date or listing deadline?

Yes, timelines tied to a sale or listing are common, and we schedule around them.

What should we set aside before you begin the cleanout?

Anything you want to keep, plus items awaiting appraisal — point them out or leave a note and our crew will work around them.

Can you handle a full property, including garage, basement, and attic?

Yes, a standard estate cleanout covers every part of the property, similar in scope to a full home cleanout, in one visit or across a scheduled series.

Do you take firearms, ammunition, or other regulated items?

No, those need to go through a licensed dealer or law enforcement — we can't legally take them.

How do you handle items with sentimental or uncertain value?

We set them aside and flag them rather than making that call ourselves — that decision stays with the family.

Can family members be present to point out what stays?

Yes, and many families do exactly that, but it's not required — we work from whatever instructions are set ahead of time.

Do you offer documentation for donations made from the estate?

We can provide a basic receipt noting what was donated and where, useful for the estate's records.
