Spring is when winter's accumulation finally gets dealt with — holiday decorations that never made it back to storage, winter gear taking up closet space, and the general "let's finally deal with this" energy that comes with warmer weather. It's also prime time for garage and basement cleanouts, since it's finally comfortable enough to spend a few hours out there sorting through what's actually worth keeping.
Summer tends to be about outdoor spaces — old patio furniture that didn't survive winter, a deck or fence project that leaves behind a pile of debris, or finally getting rid of that shed's worth of stuff you've been stepping around. It's also a popular season for moving, which means its own wave of furniture and boxes that don't make the cut.
Fall brings yard waste — branches, leaves, and general cleanup before the first freeze — plus a second wind of decluttering as people start prepping their homes before the holidays roll around. If you're planning to host, this is usually when the "get the house presentable" pile shows up.
